Kahdeksan vuotta sitten avattiin blogi, jossa seurattiin matkaa kohti sen vuoden Hawaiin IRONMANia, joten nyt on jo aika päivittää tilannetta. Tervetuloa seuraamaan matkaani kohti tulevan kesän Norseman Xtreme Triathlonia uudella Facebook-sivullani!

Sivulla julkaisen tiimini kanssa ennen näkemätöntä materiaalia matkasta Norsemanille 2015.

Update from Hawaii

It is now day 9 in Hawaii and The Race is after two days. Preparing for the heat, humidity and jet lack has gone well, although it has been a bit harder than I thought before hand.

I made the "finishing exercise" yestarday. It was the first exercise here that went "normally". Meaning that my body is adapting to local environment quite well. "Filling" up has started like I have planned. Rest depends on THE (IRON)man and his genes! ;D

Also other Finnish triathletes, Tiina Boman and Tom Söderdahl, are in fire.

Update in English

The end of the summer has been more than great this year. Here´s the update in English again:

27th of July Teemu gained new field: track racing. And why not to start from the top? :D Finnish Championships were held in Turku and Teemu with his team, IK-32, took bronze. With 6 hours training, this is quite good accomplishment! :D

5th of August Teemu won the Finnish Championships (Ironman -distances) in Nokia. This was the first Finnish Championship title in triathlon! The race itself was legendary. Usually swimming has been the "weakest" part, but now he won also the 3,8 km swim! Cycling (180 km) was going also well. But the running was "hand to hand" with Kai Söderdhal. Two guys ran side by side almost the whole marathon, but Teemu took off in the end and won the title. If it is terrible for the athletes to compete nine hours really side by side, it was quite nerve-racking also for the service team of Teemu and I guess all the spectators felt same way. Some people said that the race was like "The Ironwar" of Mark Allen and Dave Scott... :D Some pics form the race can be found from here.

Now, at the end of August, it is time to train. Recovery from Nokia was good and on schedule. Besides on training Teemu has taken care of sponsors and other supporters. The first results of that work can be found from here. Anyway, there´s more to come on that matter, but after all the hard work done, the start has been quite good.

Update in English

Every now and then we are going to publish an update also in English as it turned out that there are readers that just cannot break the language barrier. :) These posts will be more like a summary about recent events and races.

After IM Lanzarote (and qualifying as PRO to IM Hawaii World Championships) thing or two has happend. Here´s some of it:

At the end of June Teemu took part in Finnish Championships of cycling. As a result, his team IK-32 took bronze.

7th July 2007 we had our wedding day. Happy day and lots of celebrating with friends and family. Honeymoon ended fast as we directed our attention to work and all the work that have to be done before Hawaii.

14th of July 2007 the oldest triathlon competition took place in Joroinen: Finntriathlon - the Finnish Championships - in half distance. Last year Teemu took silver, but this time all the wedding arrangements and other things from last couple of weeks were a bit too much. Teemu finished the race 9th position. Day before the Finntriathlon Arja and our guests from Poland, Juan (ES) and Edyta (POL), took part in "fast triathlon" (200m swimming, 13 km cycling and 5 km running) in Joroinen. Team FinEsPo was led by Teemu and all the competitors finished their first triathlon! :D

22nd of July again there will be Finnish Championships, this time it´s the home race in Kuopio. Distances (750 swimming, 20 km cycling and 5 km running) are a bit too short, but it is atleast a good exercise. During the same weekend Triathlon Team AquaTerra is organizing the U23 and Youth European Championships!

27th of July new field will be gained: track racing (cycling) Finnish Championships will take place in Turku. On coming Tuesday we will head up to Helsinki to train track racing in Helsinki Velodrome. Anyway, for sure this race will be interesting for both Teemu and spectators! :D

5th of August Finnish Championships with Ironman distances will take place in Nokia. And most probably this is the last race before Hawaii Ironman.
